Are you experiencing strange odors inside your car? It might be time to replace your cabin filter. Follow these simple steps to keep the air inside your car clean and fresh.
The cabin filter is located on the left corner of the footwell. To access it, pinch the sides at the tabs and pull down to remove the securing tabs from their catch. After that, remove the bottom panel from the glovebox assembly.
Next, the filter housing cover has a screw on the bottom that requires a T20 Torx driver to remove. Once the screw is removed, take off the filter housing door and remove the old filter from the housing. Make sure to clean out any debris inside the housing.
Now, it’s time to install the new AQ1211 filter into the housing. Ensure its airflow indicating arrow is pointing towards the back of the car. You can rotate the filter as needed, but the hard sides need to be on the top and bottom with the pleats vertical.
Slide the housing cover into position and press to lock it into place. Reinstall the housing door screw and the footwell panel. Lastly, press up on the tabs to secure them on the screws.
