Welcome back to the channel! Today, at the request of many of our viewers, we’ll be showcasing the upgrade of a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the factory 8.4 inch Uconnect display to incorporate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto using the fittingbay interface.
The 8.4 inch Uconnect display is a popular feature, and with our interface, you can seamlessly integrate Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, including wireless connectivity for both, regardless of whether it’s a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chrysler, or Dodge, as long as it has the 8.4 inch Uconnect display.
Replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket one is not a viable option due to its inbuilt functions, so our interface serves to modernize and enhance the system.
Installation Process
The installation process begins with removing the factory screen and radio, which is a relatively simple task. Carefully detach the panel, ensuring caution around the air vent controls.
Once the screen is dismantled, a circuit board needs to be added to the factory screen. After reassembling and ensuring video and touch functionality, the interface can be connected for testing.
Upon successful testing, the system can be reassembled, including the addition of a USB port for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

After the installation is complete, the original screen supports Apple CarPlay with features such as phone, music, messages, and maps. Additionally, steering wheel controls seamlessly operate the new system.
