P1899 Jeep: Understanding and Resolving this Common Transmission Issue

Hello everyone, I’m excited to share my latest project with you – the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. I’ve put a lot of work into this vehicle and I’m thrilled to show you all the modifications I’ve made.

I’ve equipped the Jeep with armor plating, a snorkel, and a four-inch lift kit. The rear bumper has been replaced, and I’ve even reconditioned the engine. Of course, it’s also four-wheel drive.

Additionally, I’ve installed new tires, rims, shocks, and an exhaust system. The brakes and the rear axle have been upgraded, and I’ve resolved a peculiar issue with the park neutral switch on the transmission, which turned out to be bypassed. After troubleshooting and fixing the bypass, the Jeep is now running perfectly.

I also addressed a minor oil leak from the engine by installing a catch pan. While most of the work is done, I still plan to modify the snorkel and reposition the washer tank to improve the vehicle further.

Thank you for joining me in this project and stay tuned for more updates on this Jeep Cherokee!
