Nissan Rogue Battery: Your Comprehensive Guide to Care, Replacement, and Troubleshooting

Welcome to my Automotive channel! In today’s video, I’ll demonstrate how to remove and replace the battery in a 2012 Nissan Rogue. This process is applicable to Nissan Rogues manufactured from 2007 to 2013.

To remove the battery, you’ll need a ratchet with a 10-millimeter socket or wrench. The battery is secured in place by a battery holder, which is located on top of the battery with two 10-millimeter nuts.

You can choose to remove both nuts to take out the holder entirely or loosen one and pivot the holder to the side, allowing you to lift the battery. With the holder out of the way, disconnect the battery terminals, starting with the negative terminal followed by the positive terminal. When installing the new battery, connect the positive terminal first, then the negative to avoid any possible shorts.

To remove the terminals, loosen the nuts without removing them completely. If the terminals are stuck due to prolonged use, gently pry underneath or use a flat screwdriver and a hammer to separate them. Before installing the new battery, ensure the terminals are clean using sandpaper or a wire brush.
