Honda Key Fob Battery Replacement: Step-by-Step Guide on How To Do it Yourself

Changing the battery in a Honda key fob is a simple task that many people struggle with. In this article, I will guide you through the process step by step.

First, flip the key fob over and look for a tab that can be pulled to slide out the spare key. This key is used to access the car in case the battery is dead.

To access the battery, position the key fob so that you’re facing the side with the key slot. Insert the key into the slot and gently pop apart the two halves of the key fob to reveal the battery and the case covering.

Removing the battery may require using a pin to release the clips holding it in place. Once the battery is out, remember to insert the new battery with the plus side facing out to avoid repeating the process.

The replacement battery needed is a Panasonic CR2032 3-volt battery. Once the new battery is in place, reassemble the key fob, and you’re good to go.
