Nissan VDC Problems: Understand and Fix Common Issues

Welcome to my channel once more, ladies and gentlemen. Today, I want to talk about a quick fix for the VDC Off light issue on a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. I recently had a client come to me with his car displaying the “slip” warning above the gas tank instrument cluster and the VDC Off light illuminated. I performed a little trick to resolve this issue, and it worked like a charm.

The VDC switch on the 2011 Nissan Pathfinder is located right there. What I did was disconnect both battery terminals and then zip-tie the positive and negative cables together, not at the battery terminal, but at the cable ends. I left the car in this state for about 20 minutes. This process effectively resets the car’s computer system.

After ensuring that the cables were not grounded to anything else, I let them sit in this configuration and waited for around 20 minutes. Once the time was up, I started the car and drove it for a short distance, and to my delight, the VDC Off light was no longer illuminated. To illustrate this process better, I will post a picture at the end of this video to show exactly how I did it, as I didn’t record it while I was performing the steps.

If you try this method, I would love to hear about your results. Feel free to leave a comment or give this video a thumbs up if you found the information helpful. Stay tuned for more automotive tips and tricks, and have a great day!
