P0325 Honda CRV: Understanding and Troubleshooting This Common Issue

In today’s video, the dashboard of a Honda CRV 2005 is showing a check engine light. After connecting a scan tool, a code “P0325” indicating a knock sensor issue is retrieved. The following steps involve replacing the knock sensor to turn off the check engine light.

Knock sensors play a crucial role in detecting engine knocking, which indicates inefficient combustion. The engine’s computer uses this information to adjust ignition timing and prevent potential damage to the engine.

The first step in the process is removing the cover of the vehicle’s engine. This involves locating and removing the clips securing the cover, ultimately exposing the faulty knock sensor covered in rust.

Next, the harness connected to the sensor is detached, and the sensor is removed using a socket wrench. A new sensor is then installed in place of the old one, and the harness is reconnected. The cover is repositioned and secured back in its place.

After driving the car for a while, it is confirmed that the check engine light is no longer illuminated, indicating the successful resolution of the issue.
