Uncovering the 2008 Honda Accord Starter Location: An Expert Guide

In this video, I’m going to show you how to replace the starter in a 2008 Honda Accord. This guide can also be used on other vehicles with a 2.4-liter engine such as the Honda CRV, Acura TSX, and others.

In order to access the starter, we need to remove the intake manifold. Here are the steps to do it:

  1. Remove the plastic shroud around the top of the bumper.
  2. Remove the tube that helps direct air into your air filter.
  3. Disconnect the battery to cut off all power to the car.
  4. Loosen the hose clamps on your intake tube and remove the throttle body.
  5. Remove the intake manifold bolts, nuts, and vacuum hoses.

Once the old starter is removed, compare it to the new one to ensure it’s identical. Install the new starter, making sure the teeth face the opening to your flywheel, and reconnect all the components in the reverse order of removal.

If you encounter a stuck bolt, there are techniques you can use such as using a breaker bar or adding a pipe for leverage. If the bolt is damaged, you may need to fix or replace it.

After reinstalling all the components, start the engine to ensure it works properly.
