2013 Ford Explorer Cabin Air Filter: Ultimate Replacement Guide

  1. The cabin filter is located on the passenger side of the vehicle.
  2. Open the glovebox.
  3. Remove the dampener cord from the glovebox.
  4. Push in on both sides of the glovebox to release the stops.
  5. Lower the glovebox.
  6. Unclip both sides of the housing cover to remove it.
  7. Remove the old filter from the housing and clean out any debris inside.
  8. Install your new AQ1153 filter into the housing with its airflow indicating arrow pointing down.
  9. Reinstall the filter housing door.
  10. While pulling the dampener cord down, partially close the glovebox to re-engage the stoppers.
  11. Reinstall the dampening cord and close the glovebox.
