2015 Toyota Corolla Oil Change: Comprehensive Guide for Owners

Welcome back to Toyota Maintenance YouTube Channel! Today, I will walk you through the process of performing an oil change on a 2015 Toyota Corolla S. This is one of the most requested how-to videos, so I’m excited to tackle it with you.

Before we begin, let’s address the slight damage to the front bumper of the vehicle, likely from a previous fender bender. Despite this, the car has been running fine. The first step in the oil change process is to start by pulling the dipstick to release any vacuum inside the engine, allowing the oil to drain effectively.

As I raise the vehicle, you can see the engine oil pan, drain plug, and the housing for the oil filter. Using a 14mm socket, I carefully remove the drain plug and let the oil flow into a catch pan. The oil appears to be in good condition, indicating that this is a newer vehicle with around 80,000 miles on it.

The design of the engine layout allows for easy access to both the drain plug and the filter housing, making the process more efficient. I replace the oil filter, ensuring to change the o-ring as well, and then proceed to clean the area around the filter housing.

When reinstalling the filter housing, I make sure to use the correct torque and replace the drain plug with new Toyota washers. Once the draining and reinstallation are complete, I lower the vehicle halfway to check and adjust the tire pressures.

With the vehicle back on the ground, I clean the surrounding area and use a funnel to add the recommended 0W-20 full synthetic oil, ensuring not to overfill. The oil level is checked using the dipstick, and any remaining maintenance tasks, such as refilling the windshield wiper reservoir and checking the coolant, are performed.

After completing the oil change, I remind viewers to reset the maintenance system and place a windshield sticker as a reminder for the next service.

Thank you for watching, and stay tuned for more upcoming videos. Your support means the world! Have a great day, my friend.
