How to Replace the Side Mirror on Your Toyota Corolla: Step-by-Step Guide

[Music]

Hey, it’s your boy, EngineerMojo. Today, we have a 2013 Toyota Corolla. It’s my sister’s car, and she recently had a little accident. She swerved to avoid a cat and hit her side mirror. So, we’re going to replace it with a new one she purchased from an online vendor. The replacement came with a color-matched back and all the necessary tools, which was pretty nice.

I’ll show you how to replace it without having to take off the full panel. Most times, when replacing a side mirror, the mounting location is concealed, and you have to find a way to access it. The most efficient way to do it without taking off the whole door panel is to simply put your finger in the crack, lightly pull, and it will pop right out. Then, you can start removing the speaker piece to access the bolts.

The speaker piece removed, we now have access to the three bolts. I use a 10-millimeter socket to remove each one easily. Once the bolts are out, I can remove the old side mirror, making sure not to let it fall off completely until I unplug the sensor and remove the last screw.

After unplugging the sensor and removing the old mirror, I can plug in the new one and secure it with the bolts. Once everything is tight and secure, I put the cover back in place and pop the panels back. The new cover matches the car perfectly, and the whole process is complete.
