2015 Honda Odyssey Cabin Air Filter Replacement: A Step-By-Step Guide

If you’re a Honda Odyssey owner and you want to keep your vehicle in top condition, regular maintenance is crucial. One often overlooked but important maintenance task is changing the cabin air filter. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to replace the cabin air filter in your 2011-2017 Honda Odyssey.

Before we begin, we’d like to thank Mia Max Automotive for providing us with the vehicle for this demonstration. They are a reputable used car dealer in Toronto, Canada. You can check out their full inventory here.

Step 1: Prepare the Glove Box

First, open the passenger-side door and the glove box. Empty the glove box to ensure there are no obstructions. You’ll need to locate and undo the dampening arm on the side of the glove box, allowing you to remove it completely.

Step 2: Remove the Old Filter

The glove box is held in place by two black positioning tabs — one on each side. By pressing and squishing these tabs, you can release the glove box and access the filter frame. Slide out the filter frame and remove the old cabin air filter.

Step 3: Insert the New Filter

When inserting the new cabin air filter, be mindful of the airflow direction. The airflow should go from the top to the bottom. Ensure the filter is securely positioned in the frame before reinserting it into the glove box.

Step 4: Reassemble the Glove Box

Slide the filter frame back into place and reattach the glove box by aligning and securing the positioning tabs. Don’t forget to reattach the dampening arm and ensure it locks into position.

Step 5: Test It Out

Once everything is back in place, give the glove box a test to ensure everything is functioning properly. Congratulations! You’ve successfully changed the cabin air filter on your Honda Odyssey.

We hope this guide has been helpful in maintaining your vehicle. Regularly changing the cabin air filter can improve the air quality inside your car and ensure proper HVAC system performance. For more maintenance tips and automotive guides, stay tuned for our future posts!
