Today, we’re going to discuss how to start a 2022 Honda Civic when the key fob dies. While I’m demonstrating this on a 2022 Honda Civic in this video, the process will be the same for a couple of different years.
I’ve removed the battery from the key fob to demonstrate. As a result, none of the buttons are working. If I try to start the vehicle as I normally would, I’d receive a message telling me to touch the start button with the emblem side of the remote. That’s exactly what we’re going to do.
On the back of the key fob, you’ll find the Honda emblem. All you need to do is touch it to the start button. Upon doing so, you’ll hear a beep, and then you can start the vehicle as normal.
Remember, after starting the vehicle, it’s important to replace the battery in your key fob as soon as possible.
