Today, I’m going to show you how to start your car on a Nissan if your key fob’s dead. I’ll demonstrate this on a Nissan Murano, but it works on most Nissan models with a similar key fob.
To demonstrate this, I’ve removed the battery from the key fob. If you try to lock or unlock the car, it won’t work.
If you’re locked out of the car, you can use the key hole located on the driver’s side. Insert the key and turn it to unlock the door.
Now, let’s start the car with a dead key fob to show you how it’s done.
Using the dead key fob, when I push the start button, a warning message appears indicating that the ID is not correct.
Here’s how to start the car with a dead key fob:
- Put your foot on the brake.
- Take the key fob with the Nissan logo facing up and push the start button.
The car should crank right up, demonstrating that starting a Nissan with a dead key fob is simple if you know what to do.
